What Edtech Grants are available for Texas Teachers?
Texas K-12 educators have access to a variety of edtech grants to secure software, tools, or other classroom resources. Many grant applications open annually in August and September
Texas Retired Teachers Foundation (TRTF) Classroom Assistance Grant
Applications open yearly in September.
Funding Amount: $1,000
Eligibility: Current K-12 public school educators in Texas.
Grant Information: The TRTF Classroom Assistance Grant is designed to support creative and innovative teaching practices that will have a positive impact on student engagement and achievement in Texas Public Schools. Funding will be provided for initiatives that require software, equipment, technology resources, or other educational materials not covered by the annual budget.
TEXAS YES Grant from The Texas YES Project
Applications open yearly in August.
Funding Amount: Maximum of $15,000 for first-time applicants.
Eligibility: Administrators, teachers or faculty from public or private K-12 schools, and 501(c)(3) non-profits that work with children in San Antonio, Dallas-Fort Worth, Corpus Christi, and Austin.
Grant Information: The TEXAS YES Grant aims to support innovation and development in the classroom. Funds educational projects, enrichment programs, and community initiatives, including software and technology for classroom use.
Georgia-Pacific Grant
Applications are accepted throughout the year. It’s suggested that all applications be submitted by the end of October.
Funding Amount: Funding is dependent on the project and the amount of funding remaining.
Eligibility: NPOs, public schools and other state or local government entities located within 30 miles of the following areas: Denton, Waxahachie, Pineland, Diboll, Sweetwater, Corrigan, Camden, McQueeney
Grant Information: The Georgia-Pacific Grant program seeks to back initiatives in education, community enrichment, entrepreneurship, or environmental preservation. Schools located in eligible regions may seek funding for projects aligned with these focus areas. Grant funds may be used to purchase software that will help facilitate the implementation of these projects.
Grant Application Tips
Grant applications can seem intimidating at first, but by following a few simple tips, you can submit an educational grant application you are confident about and proud of!
- Review the Guidelines: Review all guidelines of the grant to ensure you have a thorough understanding of eligibility criteria, deadlines, and specific requirements. Confirm eligibility criteria, deadlines, and grant requirements.
- Research Previously Funded Projects: Research projects that have previously been funded to understand your eligibility better. Understand how your project qualifies.
- Understand the Mission: Familiarize yourself with the mission and goals of the funding organization, tailoring your application to align with their priorities and objectives.
- Explain the Need: Clearly explain the problem you are addressing and why it is essential. Share stories, anecdotes, and data to illustrate the impact of your work.
- Define the Benefits and Impact: It is essential to define the impact clearly and benefits your project will have, using data to back up your claims.
- Create a Realistic Budget: Develop a detailed and realistic budget that aligns with the scope of your project.
- Provide Supporting Documents: Make sure to provide all necessary supporting documents.
