101 Ways to Use Unlockable Missions (Your Most Requested Feature!)

Feature Releases Apr 14, 2025

The Key to Customized, Sequential, and Surprising Experiences 🔑

Unlockable Missions are here—and they’re opening up a whole new dimension of creativity, control, and chaos (the good kind) in your interactive Experiences.

Whether you’re designing a sequential learning adventure for your classroom, a self-guided museum tour so your team can have some time back, or a fundraising scavenger hunt around the city, you can now have Missions unlock one another, giving you the power to shape how participants move through your Experience.

Unlockable Missions enables you to create as complex an Experience as you'd like!

What are Unlockable Missions on Goosechase?

One Mission unlocks the next.
As simple as it sounds.
As exciting as you make it.

Missions can now remain hidden until your participants complete specific other Missions first.

Participants will feel like they’ve just cracked the secret level in a video game. An easter egg, if you will. 🥚

Want your players to answer trivia questions before revealing the next clue? Done.
Want a text Mission with a riddle to unlock a GPS challenge? Easy.
Want a choose-your-own-adventure setup where different paths unfold based on player choices? Absolutely.

Use Unlockable Missions to Create Amazing Things

Use this to gently guide newer participants, or create puzzles for your more competitive crowds. There’s power in the mystery!

Unlockable Missions give you:

  • 🎭 Total storytelling power: Control the narrative arc of your Experience, step-by-step or branch-by-branch.
  • 🧩 Dynamic customization: Let different paths emerge based on participant actions. Every Experience can be truly unique.
  • ⏱️ More engagement, less overwhelm: Keep participants focused and curious with just the right amount of info at the right time. Goose things come to those who wait!

How to Use Unlockable Missions

They’re so easy to create, we almost skipped this section.

We heard you loud and clear—this was THE most requested update ever. So, we made sure it’s as simple to implement as it is powerful.

Find this feature in the Availability tab of any Mission

Here's how to make an unlockable Mission:

  1. Open the Experience you’re creating.
  2. Click into the Mission you want to ‘lock’ behind another Mission.
  3. Head to the "Availability" tab.
  4. In the “Release” dropdown, select “When Another Mission is Completed”.
  5. Select the Mission that must be completed to unlock this one.
  6. That’s it! You’ve just created an Unlockable Mission. It won’t be visible to participants until they’ve completed the one you set before it.
