FAQs: Summer 2024 Downtime

In case you missed it, we're doing scheduled maintenance this summer and are debuting a new interface for Goosechase creators!

We're grateful for everyone's excitement and questions! We're answering the most frequently asked below.

Frequently Asked Questions

General

  • Will there be disruptions?
    • Disruption will be minimal, and we'll be rolling out the upgrade late in the night (EST).
  • How long will the downtime last?
    • We anticipate less than 6 hours of downtime.

Creating Experiences

  • Can I still load and create my Experiences?
    • During the downtime, creators won’t be able to access the Experience Manager (now the Goosechase Studio) nor the mobile app.
  • Can I access anything in my account during the downtime?
    • Creators won’t have access to the Experience Manager. Your account details and Experiences will be unaffected once you’re able to log back in.

Participating in Experiences

  • Will participants be able to join an Experience?
    • The mobile app will also be undergoing maintenance, so participants won’t be able to join Experiences or complete Missions. Following the downtime, participants will need to update their app to the latest version.
  • Will participants who are signed in lose their submissions? What about those who joined as guests?
    • All submissions from all participants (whether guests or signed in) will be preserved and accessible after the downtime.
  • What happens if my Experience went live before the downtime but will finish after?
    • Once participants update their version of the app, they’ll be able to participate as normal! Their past submissions won’t be affected, and the Experience will continue as usual.
  • Will the app look different for participants?
    • No, there will be very minimal change from the participant’s perspective.
  • Do participants need to do anything right now?
    • Nothing right now! They’ll just need to update their app when they see the notice (see below).
  • Will participants also need to log in again to join their Experience and team?
    • Participants won't have to log in again. After updating to the new version of the app, participants will see a 'holding screen' (see below!) until the new interface is turned on.

      Once it’s live, they'll be authenticated back into their account in the app (both guest or signed-in) automatically!
Participants will be prompted to update the app with the green screen (left). When they've downloaded the new version of the app, it will show them the yellow progress screen (right) until the update is automatically live.
