EDU Ambassador Highlight - Eric Bentley

Eric is whom you would call a veteran teacher! After spending 26 years in education, he is still loving every minute of it! He is an elementary STEAM Lab Teacher for students from kindergarten to 4th grade, and Perry Elementary School in Michigan is lucky to have him!

Eric hasn’t always been a STEAM Lab teacher though, he has also spent time teaching middle school math and language, as well as team building. Eric goes above and beyond, bringing his passion for teaching to a whole new level by dedicating his time after school teaching students how to drive safely! Eric unintentionally attended a GooseChase session while attending an EdCamp. He was curious and was soon excited over the possibilities GooseChase can offer to his students.

We asked Eric when he thought he would use GooseChase next.

“Next? I’m using it now! The pandemic has forced school systems to support and encourage distance learning opportunities. As an elementary teacher, I surveyed my current teacher toolbag to find applications I could use online. GooseChase was among the first I went to.”

“Knowing that most children are confined to the house or immediate space outside their home, I needed to choose items to look for that were commonplace but also interesting. My most recent game I used was a scavenger hunt that had them looking for items that begin with each letter of the alphabet. During the game I also threw out additional missions that asked kids to look for items that began with digraphs.”

Big thank you to Eric for taking some time to give his insight into using GooseChase! Follow along with Eric’s education journey on Instagram @bentleydrivingsch and Twitter @ericjbentley!
